Preserve your Wedding Flowers & the Memories it Holds

Weddings can be large, small, opulent or simple. What they have in common is that they
are likely the most important day of your life so far.

Some brides, some grooms, some couples, spend months or even years imagining and planning their perfect nuptials. Whilst others never thought their life would take this path but suddenly, one day… it feels right: let’s do it!

Whether you’ve spent years or just a few weeks planning your wedding, the day will come and it will pass, and you’ll want somehow to preserve those special memories. Photos and videos can capture moments and the mood but often it’s keepsakes, or the dress with a champagne stain on the sleeve, which have the power in years to come to take you right back to the essence of the day.

For many people, flowers are a huge part of what makes a wedding. But often carefully chosen and crafted floral arrangements are cast aside once the day is over. At best, a bouquet might be passed onto to Great Grandma to enjoy if she couldn’t be there on the day.

This is where our bouquet preservation and re-imagining come in:

“I knew deep down that I didn’t want to simply let go of my flowers after the day was over”, recalls Mille, whose bouquet we preserved and turned into a work of fine art which now hangs proudly in the couple’s marital home. “I genuinely get so much joy every time I walk past it. I hope that as the years go on, as we grow and change and the piece continues to evolve, we’ll be able to add more artwork that feels just as much like us.”

How does bouquet preservation work?

When you commission us to preserve your bouquet, we’ll send you a welcome pack with
clear guidance on how to prepare and deliver the flowers to us, ensuring they arrive in the best condition (within 5 days of your wedding). We immediately begin the preservation process, using skills refined though years of practise.

Over several months, your flowers move through a careful process where preservation
meets design, guided by the techniques and artistic judgement that make each Madeeco
artwork truly one of a kind. The finished artwork is then mounted in your chosen frame and finish and delivered to your home for you to enjoy for years to come.

Can any flower be preserved?

It’s true that some flowers preserve better than others, but we try to preserve and include as many aspects as possible of your original bouquet in the final artwork. We use a variety of techniques, depending on the flower, and the differing textures -and sometimes a mix of pressed and 3D flowers- give a painterly effect to the finished work. We also preserve and incorporate foliage from the original bouquet.

Will my flowers keep their colour?

In general, brighter colours become more muted during the preservation process. Whites
and pale florals take on a warm patina, giving them an antique feel. No two flowers will age in the same way but our creative approach when composing the artwork is to capture the essence of the original bouquet and let each stem find its place within the whole picture. You will find that as the years go by your artwork will evolve – ageing gently and softly.

The finishing touches
We offer a range of framing and mounting choices and can recommend a style for you
based on the nature of the work we create. We partner with a specialist London framer.

Do we only preserve wedding bouquets?

We are open to commissions and happy to discuss preservation and artwork on any floral
arrangement or collection. Held in Bloom is an example of an artwork born from a visit to a Buckinghamshire flower farm. We have also been sent re-created bridal bouquets to
preserve when couples discover our service sometime after their wedding day.

Can bouquet preservation be gifted?

Of course. In fact, we’ve had several groups of friends who have bought each other bouquet preservation as a wedding gift as each couple got married in turn.

"I'm so glad we were able to do it for each other”, said one. “It's such a special gift to keep forever. The flowers were one of my favourite parts of our wedding and it’s so nice to see them every day in my house.”

“Thank you so much for listening to exactly what I imagined in creating a timepiece that’s a wonderful reminder of the best day of my life!”
